Bare firing:
the body is unglazed and goes directly into the kiln, and the clay and pine ash mix at a high temperature of 1250°C to form a natural ash glaze with fire-scarred texture; the mouth rim of the vessel is ochre-colored due to oxidation, and the belly of the vessel changes to a smoky grey-blue color, resembling the foothills of Mt. Fuji in the morning mist.
 
Kannyu (crackled ice glaze):
Some of the wares are made with a mixture of grass ash and feldspar glaze, and the glaze naturally cracks during kiln firing, forming a spider web of crackled ice, with the soup seeping into the cracks to add more layers of flavor.
